
City Of Buffalo Public Library Update

On Thursday, March 26, 2020 at a Special Meeting of the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library Board of Trustees Executive Committee, it was resolved that the downtown Central Library and eight City of Buffalo Branch Libraries will remain closed until such time as the guidance of the Governor of the State of New York supports reopening.
The Library continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation. The Buffalo & Erie County Public Library Board of Trustees and/or Executive Committee will reconvene as necessary. Previously, Library Trustees had approved closing the Central Library and City of Buffalo Branch Libraries to the public through March 31, 2020.
“Our doors may be closed, but our virtual library is open. We encourage the public to visit our website atwww.BuffaloLib.org for information and links to thousands of free resources ranging from video storytimes for children to digital collections, from databases to 3D walking tours of exhibits, including the Mark Twain Room and much more,” said Library Director Mary Jean Jakubowski.

- eLibraryCards for online access to free eBooks, music and more are available here:http://vf.buffalolib.org/vufind/OnlineSignup/Home/ .
- Due dates on all physical library materials checked out beginning February 11, 2020 have been extended to April 30, 2020.
- Drop boxes at the downtown Central Library remain open.
