City Wine Merchant: Right Bank Bourdeaux

A message from our friends at City Wine Merchant about their “Right Bank Bordeaux” Bottle of wine:

Cap de Faugères is a 46-hectare estate in the pretty village of Sainte-Colombe, in the Côtes de Castillon appellation neighboring Saint-Emilion. The vineyard has a fine terroir of limestone and clay slopes and is planted to 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The estate’s old vines, some up to 50–years old, have made it one of the most respected producers in the appellation.

This 2015 vintage is one of the best-ever, delivering layers of raspberry, plum, earth, and spice. It is aged in French oak for 12 months, resulting in a structured but approachable full-bodied wine. This is one of the great values of the right bank, and it is ready to drink for the grilling season!
