NFTA Metro Update
01.04.22
Installation of the new catenary system as part of the DL&W Station project will require a Metro Rail power shutdown this Sunday, January 9th, between the DL&W and Exchange Streets. Metro Rail will maintain service by single tracking and running a surface section rail shuttle. The Canalside Metro Rail station will be closed on Sunday, January 9th. Metro Rail’s surface section rail shuttle will stop at Seneca Street, just a short walk down Main Street. Transfers between the surface section Metro Rail shuttle and underground service will continue at Fountain Plaza. 500 Block, Fountain Plaza and 600 Block automobile traffic will also be restricted to avoid conflict with Metro Rail trains traveling against traffic. Regular Metro Rail service will resume on Monday, January 10th.
Riders should expect additional shutdowns through March on weekend days without major public events. The NFTA will send notice when days are confirmed, potential additional catenary structure work days are: Sunday, January 16th, Sunday, January 23rd, Sunday, February 13th, Saturday, February 26th. https://metro.nfta.com/
