Memorial Day Weekend at the Buffalo Naval & Military Park

Plan your visit to the Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park during Memorial Day weekend Saturday, May 27th through Monday, May 29th as we remember those who fought for our freedom. For the fourth year in a row, 7,300 flags will blanket the grounds of the Naval Park throughout Memorial Day weekend to represent the average number of United States Veterans who have lost their battle with PTSD per year, an average of 22 per day.

Saturday, May 27th the Park hosts the Tolling the Boats Ceremony at 2pm at the United States Submarine Veterans Buffalo Base near USS Croaker.

Sunday, May 28th come watch the 1944 film: The Fighting Sullivans at 7pm following a pre-film presentation. The event is free but guest must reserve a ticket.

Monday, May 29th At 9am enjoy a musical performance by the Buffalo Brass Quintet. At 10am the Naval Park hosts Military Honors and Non-Denominational Memorial Service Presented in partnership with The Battle Within Foundation at the Vietnam Memorial. At 11am watch the Knights of Columbus Maximilian Kolbe Assembly #1944 Ceremony and Formation. At 12 noon is the Hispanic Veterans Ceremony at the Hispanic-American Veterans Memorial. At 1pm watch the Vietnam Veterans Ceremony at the Vietnam Memorial. Lastly, at 2pm watch African American Veterans Monument Ceremony to Commemorate and Honor the life of PFC David Evans Jr.
