Saturday, October 21st at 12noon, award-winning production company Prodigal Son Productions is very proud to present a one-day, all-day marathon reading of Oscar Wilde’s classic novel “The Picture of Dorian Gray at Alleyway Theatre. Tickets are $20 and available by clicking here.
“Following the success of our marathon reading of ‘The Handmaids Tale’ this past spring, which won the 2023 Buffalo Spree ‘Best of WNY’ award for ‘Most Innovative Theatre Offering’, we knew we wanted to do another benefit reading,” says Prodigal Son Productions founder James Cichocki. “’Dorian Gray’ is a classic and perfect for the Halloween season.” A cast of 18 actors and actresses will take on this amazing effort and bring their voices to this haunting classic novel from 12pm to 10pm. The audience will be seated for two-hour presentations (noon – 2pm, 2pm – 4pm, 4pm – 6pm, 6pm – 8pm, 8pm – 10pm) where they will hear 6 actors perform. All profits from the reading will benefit Gay and Lesbian Youth Services of Western New York (GLYS WNY), a local non-profit organization that builds affirming cultures and supportive communities for youth of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions.
