Art Exhibit Opening at the Pocket Gallery

Equal parts playful, bizarre, comical, and grim, “The Chicks” exhibit by local artist Chris Britton opens on Thursday, May 16th inside the Pocket Gallery at Seneca One.

‘The Chicks’ began their lives at Barnhart Brothers and Spindler Type Foundry in the Victorian era; they were originally tiny metals printer’s ornaments of unknown comedic purpose. The bizarre icons have been expanded to an incredible scale, transitioning to cute and funny to sinister and grotesque, uncanny in their terrible familiarity.
