Buffalo Icon Anne Gayley to Receive Star on Theatre District’s Plaza of Stars

The Theatre District Association is proud to announce that beloved Buffalo actress Anne Gayley will be honored with a star on the Plaza of Stars, located in the heart of the Theatre District. The dedication ceremony will take place on Monday, September 15th at 5:30pm and will serve as the official kick-off to Curtain Up!, Buffalo’s annual celebration of live theatre on Friday, September 19th.
Anne Gayley has been a cornerstone of the Buffalo theatre community for over six decades. After moving to Buffalo in 1957 with her husband and three children, she quickly became one of the region’s most sought-after performers. Her extraordinary talent has graced nearly every major stage in WNY, and her work as both an actress and director has extended to television, radio, and commercial platforms.
“Anne Gayley is truly a Buffalo theatre treasure,” said Lisa Ludwig, Co-President of the Theatre District Association. “Her talent, passion, and years of dedication have touched so many. We’re proud to honor her in a way that will be seen and remembered for years to come.”
The public is invited to attend the ceremony, which will be held at the corner of Main and Tupper Streets in Downtown Buffalo. Friends, family, fans, and members of the theatre community are encouraged to gather and celebrate Anne’s remarkable legacy and lasting impact on Buffalo’s cultural landscape.
