Buffalo Talks: Proposing a New Linear Rail Park

February 6, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Wednesday, February 6th join Working for Downtown at the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library Central Branch at Lafayette Square for Buffalo Talks: Proposing a New Linear Rail Park. The guest speaker will be Alicia Fahrner, of Western New York Land Conservancy.

In Buffalo, wildlife is reclaiming an unused rail corridor. For a mile and a half, through the First Ward, the Valley, and the Perry Neighborhood, this land connects the DL&W Terminal in Downtown Buffalo near Canalside to the Buffalo River across from Solar City. Since the fall of 2017, the Western New York Land Conservancy has been meeting with neighbors and community leaders to start a conversation about creating an inspiring and environmentally-friendly linear park and multi-use trail along this rail corridor. Come listen to Alicia Fahrner from the Land Conservancy who will share where this initiative currently stands.
