Saturday, February 18th the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library is hosting a Cold Sowing Workshop. The event begins at 2pm. For more information, click here.
Come learn about how to cold sow seeds to help get a jump start on your garden for spring! Many native favorites like milkweed require at least 60 days of cold weather in order to sprout, a process called cold stratification. Don’t worry, this method works on non-native seeds too! Join Sylvin Ashbrook from Grassroots Garden, as they show us how to use milk jugs to start seeds right now! If you are able to bring a milk jug or some seeds you would like to plant, please do! If you don’t have a spare milk jug or seeds no worries, there will be lots of extras!
