Erie Canal Bicentennial Bike Tour: Last Leg from Black Rock to Buffalo

This guided bike tour explores the final leg of the original Erie Canal, tracing its buried path from downtown to Black Rock and back along the scenic Niagara River Corridor! This 15–18 mile, three-hour ride highlights historic sites, parks, and remnants of the canal, while uncovering the story of Buffalo’s role as the canal’s western terminus and its lasting impact on the city and nation. Tours depart from the Longshed at Canalside and proceed mostly on trails or protected bike lanes at a moderate pace. Helmets are required, eBikes are welcome, and participants must be at least 14 years old. Reservations are required in advance.
