10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

A 2-Day Photography Class for Ages 16+

Over 2 sessions, this class will explain the principles of photography, through a virtual experience working inside a camera obscura. A camera obscura is a darkened room or box with a lens that projects an image from outside the camera. It is important historically in the development of photography. Alex @alexcassetti will teach you to build a camera obscura out of any room that you have access to. With the camera students will photograph images on black and white photo paper along with documenting the camera that they have created. Images photographed in the camera obscura will be developed and scanned at the CEPA Labs. An online exhibit of the work will be on CEPA’s website. Photo to left was taken using a car as a camera! You will need gaffer tape, cardboard and black garbage bags to make your room light tight. Lens and photo paper will be sent to you.
