NFTA started demolition of the outbound/eastside Canalside Metro Rail station this week. They plan to remove the overhead structure on Thursday, August 11th. This work will block the trackbed at the Canalside Station, requiring single tracking of Metro Rail downtown. The trackbed will reopen by 4am on Friday, August 12th, and Metro Rail service will resume the normal Friday schedule. The regular single tracking protocol will be used for automobile traffic in the 500, Fountain Plaza and 600 Blocks of Main Street. The Canalside Metro Rail Station will be closed Thursday and patrons will use the nearby Seneca Station until regular service resumes Friday morning.
