The New York State Department of Transportation, in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration, is preparing an Environmental Impact Statement for the NYS Route 5 (Buffalo Skyway) Project. The purpose of the project is to realign the existing transportation network to support existing and planned recreational, mixed-use, and waterfront development in the Buffalo Outer Harbor and Inner Harbor areas. The project will also address the safety, operation, and capacity deficiencies for the highway connections that serve economic development areas and local communities within South Buffalo.
The NYSDOT and FHWA invite the public to participate in one or more of the Scoping Meetings for the project. Each of the three sessions will be held in an open house format. NYSDOT representatives will be available to project information, answer questions, and obtain input.
Spanish and Arabic language interpreters and a sign language interpreter will be available. To request an assistive listening system or any other accommodations, to facility participation in the meetings, please call 716-847-3214 between 9a and 5p an no later than January 20, 2020.
