One of Buffalo’s earliest residential communities, the West Village Historic District has a variety of picturesque Victorian homes and other buildings dating back to the mid 1800s. The history and charm of the neighborhood is undeniable. Crowned by Johnson Park, a green space redesigned by Frederick Law Olmsted, the area was once the estate of the first mayor of Buffalo and later site of the Buffalo Female Academy, which would become Buffalo Seminary. Come join and walk this historic neighborhood, learn of its evolution, and admire its varied architecture.
