DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, August 21st the Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park is hosting Coast Guard Family Day. The event begins at 12pm and is free with paid admission. For more information\, click here. \nAside from being one of the branches of the military\, the Coast Guard is also a part of the Department of Homeland Security. The Coast Guard’s purpose is to protect the people\, environment\, industry\, and security of the United States on seas\, lakes\, and rivers. In the spring of 2022\, the Coast Guard played a pivotal role in saving USS The Sullivans. \nActive-Duty Coast Guardsmen and women will be on site with special exhibits and activities to interact with families and answer questions. There will be giveaways for the kids as well.
