DESCRIPTION:The Arc Erie County New York\, a not-for-profit organization that supports children and adults with disabilities and their families in achieving their desired quality of life by creating opportunities through comprehensive quality services\, will team up with Over The Edge\, to host “Over the Edge for The Arc Erie County.” The fundraising event will give 44 participants the opportunity to rappel down the tallest building in the City of Buffalo\, Seneca One Tower\, on Wednesday\, June 14th. \nIn order to be one of the 44 thrill-seekers rappelling down the 529 feet from the top of Seneca One\, participants will be required to raise at least $2\,000 in advance of the event. Proceeds will go toward The Arc Erie County’s goal of raising $100\,000 to support a variety of its vocational\, clinical\, educational\, residential and habilitative services. “We could not be more thrilled to participate in this fundraiser and to bring this larger-than-life event to one of the most exciting new buildings in Buffalo\, helping spread awareness as far as we can to show our community and beyond how they can support our important mission\,” said Doug DiGesare\, CEO\, The Arc Erie County New York. \nThe fundraising event will also include an all-day “Party in the Plaza” celebration from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.\, featuring music\, food trucks special guest appearances by the Buffalo Bandettes\, and more. His career took off with many television shows including MTV’s “Guy Code” and “Wild’n Out\,” Netflix’s “Brown Nation\,” and HBO’s “The Leftovers” After finding success in TV\, he pivoted his focus toward growing the now hugely successful podcast “Flagrant\,” co-created with fellow comedian and good friend\, Andrew Schulz\, along with touring and pop his stand up career. Akaash self-produced and directed his first stand up special\, “Bring Back Apu” in February\, amassing over a million views in its first week alone. Just one month later\, he released “The Crowdwork Special\,” putting him in rarified air of comedians who produced two specials in back to back months. Aside from stand up\, look for Akaash as the lead in the Netflix Animated Series “Conquest” as well as a Hulu series created by Ramy Youssef.
